GLOBAL RECYCLED STANDARD (GRS)

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) allows companies to record the exact amount of recycled material in a product and to track it through the production chain. It can be applied to all recyclable materials. To meet the GRS criteria, at least 50% of the materials used in an item must be recycled material. In addition, clearly defined minimum requirements must be met in the areas of environmental management, social responsibility and chemical additives.

RECYCLED CLAIM STANDARD (RCS)

The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) provides certainty about the percentage of recycled material in an item and enables traceability through the entire production chain. Depending on the percentage of recycled material in the certified goods, either the RCS Blended logo (min. 5% recycled material) or the RCS 100 logo (min. 95% recycled material) is used. However, unlike the GRS, the RCS does not contain any requirements on the chemical additives used and does not include guidelines on environmental management and social responsibility in the company.
