Resource-Efficient Store Delivery

Each year, our trucks travel around 8,000,000 kilometers to deliver goods to our stores. To actively reduce environmental impact, we continuously optimize our logistics and steadily increase the proportion of modern vehicles approved under the Euro 6E emissions standard. At the same time, we continuously evaluate the use of alternative drive systems, with the goal of gradually converting initial delivery routes to locally emission-free vehicles. Telematics systems are installed in our vehicles to analyze driving behavior. We use these insights to offer our drivers individual eco-training for a more fuel-efficient and therefore lower-emission driving style. The training sessions are conducted regularly by specially trained team leaders.

E-MOBILITY

Through the gradual expansion of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, we contribute to the growth of e-mobility in Germany at participating company locations. At these locations, we offer our employees the opportunity to use the electricity to charge their private electric vehicles. Vehicles are charged there using certified electricity from renewable energy sources, making the process virtually carbon-neutral in terms of net emissions. Our aim is to continuously expand the number of charging points at our locations, based on demand and within the scope of our technical capabilities.

Future-Oriented Fleet Management

We consistently align our operational mobility with CO2 reduction. When purchasing new vehicles, we systematically review all available models with electrified drive technology in order to steadily increase their share. Even for the vehicles with combustion engines that we use, Ernsting's family contributes to resource conservation: for our employees, we exclusively specify lower-emission vehicle models that comply with strict CO2 limits. Through this combination of electrified vehicles and modern, emission-reduced combustion engines, we continuously optimize the CO2 balance of our fleet.
