ERNSTING’S FAMILY HUMAN RIGHTS STATEMENT

Ernsting’s family is committed to ensuring that human rights are respected throughout its supply chain. For us, this means that we want to ensure dignified and non-discriminatory treatment for all employees involved in the production process, but also for our own employees. Our company recognises that we are responsible for the impact of our actions. In addition to our own business activities, this also includes all direct and indirect effects related to our original business activities. We are convinced that we can only achieve long-term entrepreneurial success if our business activities are carried out in harmony with people and the environment. Find out more about our stance on this and how we implement it in more detail in the Ernsting’s family human rights statement.

HUMAN RIGHTS

AMFORI BSC

We have been a member of the amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) since 2010. The pre-requisite for being part of this initiative is  compliance with social and environmental standards throughout a product’s entire production process. Its code is based on the International Labour Organisation (ILO) conventions, the UN Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Conventions on the Rights of Children and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, among other things.

LOW-EMISSION PROCUREMENT LOGISTICS

Our production planning is always done in the long-term. This means that goods from our procurement markets in Asia can be delivered to us by environmentally friendly modes of transport with lowest possible emissions. This means that almost all our goods are transported to us by ship or by rail. Only in absolutely exceptional cases do we use aircraft for transportation.

ENVIRONMENT

AMFORI BEPI

We have been a member of amfori BEPI since 2020. This is an initiative for retailers, importers and private labels to improve the environmental performance in their global supply chains. It supports purchasing companies in implementing the BEPI system as an essential part of their business practices and in developing their supply chains while improving their environmental performance. BEPI covers a wide range of environmental issues and analyses them on the basis of life cycle assessment data to list the environmentally critical points for each producer.
