Our Commitment to Fair Working Conditions

amfori BSCI

Ernsting's family has been a member of the amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) since 2010. As a member, we actively work towards the continuous improvement of social standards and working conditions at manufacturers in our global supply chains. This is based on the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct, compliance with which is regularly audited at participating production facilities by independent, external auditing bodies. This Code is based, among other things, on the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), the UN Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Conventions on the Rights of the Child, and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

ENVIRONMENT

Our Focus

Lower-Emission Transport Routes

Our production planning is designed for the long term. This allows us to deliberately rely on lower-emission modes of transport when delivering our goods from our sourcing markets in Asia. To actively reduce CO2 emissions during transport, the vast majority of our goods are delivered by sea or rail. We use air freight only in rare exceptional cases.

Our Commitment to the Environment

amfori BEPI

We have been a member of amfori BEPI since 2020. This is an initiative for retailers, importers, and trading brands that aims to continuously improve environmental performance in their global supply chains. The initiative supports purchasing companies in establishing the BEPI system as a permanent part of their business practices and accompanies participating suppliers in the gradual reduction of environmental impacts. BEPI covers a wide range of environmental concerns. The system makes it possible to systematically analyze the key ecological priorities for participating producers, based on the environmental data provided and recognized indicators for life cycle assessment.
